Voyage Charter
You can hire a vessel and crew for a voyage between a load port and a discharge port.
Legal definition: An agreement under which a ship is to load at one or more named ports (or identified berth within a port) a particular specified livestock/cargo to be carried to a named discharging port or ports.
Time Charter
You can hire a vessel for a specific period of time; select the ports and direct the vessel where to go.
Legal definition: A contract whereby a vessel is let to a charterer for a stipulated period of time or voyage, for a remuneration known as hire, generally a monthly rate per ton deadweight or a daily rate. The charterer is free to employ the vessel as he thinks fit within the terms as agreed, but the ship owner continues to manage his own vessel through the Master and crew who remain his servants.
Space/Part Charter
You can hire a space on the vessel depending of the number of heads you intend to load.
Legal definition: A contract whereby capacity of carriage is put at the disposal of the shipper for the carriage of his goods during a period of time under particular terms and conditions. Whether it is a contract of hire or a contract of carriage or even a contract of agency like a freight forwarder's contract, depends on its terms.
